Sunnyside Post Article from 2018

The following Sunnyside Post article from Feb 2018 explains the situation. As stated in the article, the broken boilers were repaired and the noise stopped for a while. However, as time went on, the high-pitched ringing noise returned, and as of this writing (Dec 2020) it is back and extremely loud.

I was the person who originally uploaded the YouTube videos and was in contact with Van Bramer's office. I have since begun posting new videos again in an effort to get this problem resolved. I have contacted the school and they seem unable to do anything about the noise, and the people I speak to there don't seem to care. They tell me that they will tell the custodian, but nothing ever changes.

The purpose of this blog is to get the Sunnyside community together and make them (either the school or Van Bramer's office) resolve this once and for all! The noise is infuriating and a serious quality-of-life issue. With more of us spending more time at home due to COVID, we shouldn't have to suffer for the school's malfunctioning equipment. The noise is extremely loud in our apartment, and it wakes us up at 6:00 am when the boilers turn on, and then periodically blares throughout the day. Please comment below, share, post your own videos of the noise, and contact PS 343 (718-361-3300) or Van Bramer's office (718-383-9566).
